Ocarina of Time is now an online multiplayer co-op game. Support for up to 15 players and PvP is in the works, as development is still very active. Now we just wait for Nintendo to crush our dreams.
The Happy Mask Shop in Castle Town (the building with the big mask) will lend you masks you can then sell for a profit -- or loss. This is not about Rupees though, it's about obtaining the Mask of Truth, with which you can read Gossip Stones.
Trading sequence for the Happy Mask Shop:[edit]
Note: You can deliver the first three masks to their future owners at any time after accessing Death Mountain Road. However, you cannot trade the Bunny Hood to the Running Man (Marathon Man) until AFTER you free Lord Jabu Jabu of parasites.
Keaton Mask: Give this mask to the guard standing near the Death Mountain trail in Kakariko Village, and return to the Happy Mask Shop.
Skull Mask: Give this to Skull Kid, just make the first left as you enter the Lost Woods. Note that you can also get Heart Piece from Skull Kid by playing Saria's Song. Also, a hole in space one space south of the exit to the Sacred Forest Meadow has a hole in it. Drop down here with the Skull Mask and stand in front of the dancers to get a Deku Stick Upgrade. If playing Master Quest, do the opposite of the instructions (go left instead of right or vice versa).
Spooky Mask: Sell this to the kid in the Kakariko Graveyard. He only appears during the day.
Bunny Hood: One cool side effect of the Bunny Hood is that zombies won't spawn in Hyrule Field while wearing it! The Running Man (Marathon Man) of Hyrule Field only appears after you've retrieved Zora's Sapphire from Lord Jabu Jabu. He appears right away after this running in a large loop around Lon-Lon Ranch. He definitely crosses the cross-roads right in front of the entrance to the Kokiri forest. He rests in place at night, allowing you to talk to him and give him the Bunny Hood.
Unlockable Happy Mask Shop Masks[edit]
Completing this trading sequence unlocks the following free masks:
- Mask of Truth - Allows you to read Gossip Stones
- Gerudo Mask - Makes you look like a Gerudo
- Goron Mask - Makes you look like a Goron
- Zora Mask - Makes you look like a Zora

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time is one of the quintessential singleplayer video game experiences. But now, thanks to the work of some modders, it can also be played with another Link there to fight alongside you.
Beginning development last year, OoT Online is an effort by a small team of fans to transform the Zelda classic into something that runs on a server, with friends able to team up like Nintendo went back in time to 1996 and started granting wishes.
And it works! As you can see in the video below, two players are able to run around the world and just do their own thing, entering and leaving areas and picking their own fights.

Those fights are only against the AI at the moment though, with no PvP enabled, though the team are looking at implementing that in the future.

OoT Online is still very much in development—there are plans to support up to 15 players at once—but you can follow its progress here at the team’s Twitch channel.
Thanks Zach!
